Paul S. Sellers Sr.

On March 14, 2026, our beloved father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, and so much more departed this earthly life, bound for his heavenly home. He was born on June 13, 1954, to Annabelle Sellers and Jack Williamson of Beacon, NY.

Paul was in and out of Vassar Brothers Hospital over the past few months, where he ultimately lost his battle to cancer. Paul was a basketball champion for the Beacon Bulldogs at Beacon High School. He was also an Army veteran (1978-1981) and received an honorable discharge.

He later met his lifelong partner and spouse, Geraldine Fryar, on September 20, 1970, who became Mrs. Sellers on October 16, 1982. He was a lifelong member of Springfield Baptist Church in Beacon, NY. He was employed by the MTA/Metro-North Railroad in 1978, where he eventually retired in 2014 after more than 30 years of excellent service.

He drove a taxi and always had a side hustle. He helped everyone along the way.

Paul is survived by his wife, Geraldine Sellers; his children, Paul S. Sellers Jr. (Giovannia), Nancy M. Sellers, and Damon C. Sellers (Senora); his siblings, Michael (Mike) Sellers (Evadnee), Bonita (Niecey) Sellers, and Ricardo (Rick) Sellers; and his grandchildren, Janae (Nae Nae) Sellers, Makasza (Kay Kay) Smart (Omar), Tananye' (Na Na) May (Jerome), Jakiya Hay, Jasmine Wang (Geng), Da'Mique Sellers (Jannara), Damon Sellers Jr., Derek Sellers, Drew Sellers, De'lisha Sellers (deceased), Paul S. Sellers III, Shadasha Sellers, Da'Shawna Sellers, Chani Sellers, Learyc Sellers, and Jylissa Overby. He also leaves behind a host of 18 great-grandchildren, in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Paul was predeceased by his siblings, Alicia A. Sellers, Ronald (Champ) Sellers, Angeline (Pluty) Sellers and Priscilla (Cill) Sellers; and his in-law, Sandra (Sandy) Shorey-Sellers.

His infectious laugh, warm smile, acts of kindness, and amazing sense of humor will be remembered forever. Rest well, our Gentle Giant, Big Pooh , Poochie, loved by so many.

Family and friends will gather on Thursday, March 26 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Springfield Baptist Church, 8 Mattie Cooper Square, Beacon. Military honors will be held at 12 p.m. followed by a funeral service at the church.
