Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 23, 2023 at St. Clare Catholic Church, Altamont with Rev. Ron Lorilla officiating. Burial will follow at St. Clare Cemetery, Altamont. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Sunday, October 22, 2023 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
Harold Dean Taphorn was born on Friday, May 7, 1943 in Monticello to Henry and Elva (Shaffer) Taphorn. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was a truck driver and farmer and was affiliated with St. Clare Catholic Church.
He is survived by; his brother, George Taphorn, Beecher City; niece, Mindy Taphorn, Altamont; nephews, Warren Taphorn, Beecher City and Gerald (Mariana) Taphorn, Altamont.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Lawrence and Robert (Bettie) Taphorn.
