George Henry Taphorn was born on Saturday, December 1, 1930 in Piatt County to Henry and Elva (Shaffer) Taphorn. He was a retired farmer.
He is survived by; nephews, Warren Taphorn and Gerald (Marianna) Taphorn; and niece, Mindy Taphorn.
He was preceded in death by; his parents and brothers, Harold, Robert and Lawrence Taphorn.
