Harold Thompson Obituary
Age 74 of Minneapolis passed away May 12th 2023. Army Veteran and retired LPN. Preceded in death by parents William Thompson and Lillie Pearl Hook Thompson, brother Kenneth and sister Phyllis. Survived by wife of 39 years Funmi, children Olukayode Adewumi (Afolake), Oluyemisi Thompson, and Olubukola Thompson, granddaughter Erikanmi Adewumi, siblings Carolyn Boswell (Rothar), Edward Thompson, Sharon Valerio, Lillian Thompson & Martin Thompson (Kiara).
Uncle Harold or "Papa H" to numerous nieces and nephews. He loved music. Bill Gather being one of his favorites. He sang in choir and on worship teams of multiple churches.
Besides being a nurse Harold was also a chef as well as having a deep love of golf and bowling. He enjoyed spending time in nature up north at a cabin or on a lake fishing. The Thompson house being a main meeting place for the family you could always find him behind the grill and putting his own special touch on holiday meals.
His loss will be felt deeply but we rejoice in the fact that we will see him again one day in heaven.
Viewing and Service will be at Christ Church International, 3015 13th Ave South, Minneapolis, MN 55407. Visitation: Wednesday, May 24th 5:30- 6:45 pm; Service of songs 7-8pm. Viewing & Funeral service: Thursday, May 25th Viewing: 9-10am; Service 10-11:30am. Burial at Fort Snelling to follow. www.Washburn-McReavy.com
