Harold Arnold Tuschhoff, 91, of Jackson, passed away Friday, April 18, 2025, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born December 1, 1933, in Friedheim, Missouri, to Oscar and Mary Kester Tuschhoff. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim, Missouri. He was a graduate of Perryville High School and then studied Horology at Bradley University in Peoria, where he met Darlene K. "Kay" Guittar. They were married June 1, 1958, in Peoria.
In 1961, Harold and Kay purchased Elmo's Jewelry from Elmo Martin. The name was changed to Harold's Jewelry, and together, Harold and Kay operated the jewelry store in uptown Jackson. Harold and Kay were longtime, faithful members of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson. They had been married 64 years when Kay passed away November 29, 2022.
Harold still enjoyed working at the store, but he took great pleasure in golfing, bowling, fishing, and hunting.
Loving survivors include two children, Dan (Kathy) Tuschhoff of Cape Girardeau and Cheryl (Mark) Renne of Foristell, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Bev (late Tim) Tuschhoff of Jackson; seven grandchildren: Tyler (Tessa) Tuschhoff; Nikole Tuschhoff; Heather (Derek) Palisch; Jessica (Aric) Holzbauer; Kyle (Ellen) Renne, Eric (Jessica) Renne and Logan (Shannon) Renne; five great-grandchildren, Emily and Aubrie Palisch; Isla and Cora Renne; Timber Tuschhoff; a niece, Donna Tuschhoff; great-nieces, Lizzie and Emily Tuschhoff; and Kay's sister, Susan Susko of Springfield, Illinois, and her children, Sam, Lindsey, and Lauren Susko.
He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Tim Tuschhoff; his parents; siblings, Hilbert (Aileen) Tuschhoff; Helenmarie (Elmer) Koenig; and Harlan (Marie) Tuschhoff.
Visitation is from 9:30 to 11 a.m., Thursday, April 24, 2025, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson. The Rev. Joshua Schmidt will conduct the funeral service at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 24, at the church. Interment and military honors will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Missouri Veterans Home Foundation or St. Paul Lutheran Church.
