Harold E. Wiley "Gene", 88, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, September 20, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at his home.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Blue Springs Church of the Nazarene, 2801 SW Walnut St, Blue Springs, MO 64015. Funeral service will take place at 11:30am on Friday, September 26, 2025 at Blue Springs Church of the Nazarene. Graveside will follow at Floral Hills Cemetery, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133.

Gene was born February 1, 1937 in Ridgeway, MO to Harold and Marjorie (McQuerry) Wiley. The family moved to Kansas City in 1945 where he attended elementary school and Central High School, class of 1955. The family attended the First Free Methodist Church in Kansas City. Later Gene joined the Nazarene Church, as member of Blue Springs Nazarene Church. He joined the Navy and served 4 years, in which he completed college courses and received his real estate and broker's license. After returning, Gene built and raced a Modified Sprint car in Riverside and the Olympic Tracks in the Kansas City area along with high school friends, Jerry, Greg, and Kenny Weld. His racing career included a serious crash in 1961 at the Olympic Track. He was unable to race for almost a year.

Gene met and married his true love Wanda Boone on September 25, 1960. He drove a local truck with Consolidated Transfer and Belger Cartage Service, Gene then owned and operated a Skelly Service Station in Independence before becoming a sales rep for Warner Publishing Services for over 17 years until the merge of Warner and Time. He spent his years into retirement buying and maintaining several rental homes in the Independence and Raytown area. His ability and skillful knowledge in home repair and improvement were an asset that made him successful in many years-long ventures.

He was a big fan of the KC Royals and the Chiefs. He played golf and was an avid bowler at Sterling Bowl in Sugar Creek for more than 50 years. Gene was a people person and his life was full of lifelong childhood friends who he spent many dinner times with, playing games and enjoying snacks and desserts. He was also involved in the lives of his family and enjoyed his grandchildren's school activities, games and events. Gene was always available to tackle the tasks that are continuous with houses, cars, and whatever or whoever needed a helping hand. He was dearly loved by his friends and family and was a true blessing to all.

He is survived by: wife, Wanda; son, Mark (Lisa) Wiley; daughter, Brooke (Randy) Masters; sister, Dixie Sanders; granddaughters, Dana (Cody) Newell, Amber (Ian) Clark, Raven Wiley and Krystal (Jeremy) Kiper; grandsons, Cody and Tanner Masters; great-grandchildren, Zoey and Jacob Kiper; and many nieces and nephews.
