Harold "Poncho" Wilson, 80, of Oconto Falls, passed away peacefully, Saturday, August 24, 2024, at his home surrounded by family. The son of Benjamin and Sadie (Wegner) Wilson was born October 29, 1943, in Green Bay.
Harold grew up in the Gillett area and graduated from Gillett High School with the class of 1961. Following high school, he worked for Packerland Packaging for a short time, then in maintenance for Carver Boat for over 40 years until his retirement. He married Karen Huens on April 15, 1977, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Green Bay. She preceded him in death on February 16, 2020.
In his earlier years, Harold enjoyed polka dancing. He also enjoyed going to supper clubs, camping, hunting, fishing, and murder mystery movies. Harold was a practical jokester, but deep down, he would help anybody in a time of need and he could fix just about anything. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and loved them dearly.
Survivors include his three children: Mark (Kate) Wilson, Gillett, David (Peggy) Wilson, Pulcifer, and Jennifer (Nathan) Lyons, Green Bay; two stepchildren: Michael (Shirley) Kidd, Sobieski and Michelle Kidd (Mike Benak), Oconto Falls; 12 grandchildren: Tayler, Kasey, Scott, Sam, Jacob, Andrew, Benjamin, Shaun, Brent, Corbin, Josh and Nick; and three great-grandchildren: Elivie, Nathaniel, and Noah. He is further survived by two sisters: Sandy (Bob) Olson and Ellen Winker; and several nieces, nephews and other family members.
In addition to his wife, Karen and parents, Benjamin and Sadie, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Gene Winkler.
Friends are invited to gather at Marnocha Funeral Home, 186 E. Pulaski St., Pulaski, on Thursday, August 29, from 4-7 p.m. with a Funeral Service at 7 p.m. Interment will be in St. Johns Riverside Cemetery, Gillett.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Heather Mayer, NP, at Prevea and to all the friends that were there for Harold over the past several years.
Online condolences may be offered at www.marnochafuneralhome.com or on the Marnocha Funeral Home Facebook page.

I worked with Harold at carved boat, I would always say to Harold, you got a pinch for me meaning a pinch of tobacco he would always say sure here you go and then I'd find a reason not to take a chew. I never chewed tobacco in my life. Then after many times of doing this Harord said that's it your taking a pinch, well I did, after about five minutes i got so dizzy and Harold laughed his butt off. The remaining years i worked there all Harold would have to do is reach for his tobacco and I'd say no before he could get it out. I always enjoyed talking with him, as I like to say Harold was one of the good guys. I'm sorry for your loss.
