Harold "Butch" Yoder, age 84 of Kettering, OH peacefully passed away Friday, January 24, 2025. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Rosemary Yoder; parents Allen Joseph Yoder and Sarah (Metzger) Yoder; and sister Linda (Ron) McLin.
Butch is survived by his son, Randy Allen Yoder (Jill Adkins), and granddaughter Grace Elizabeth Yoder.
He was born on February 15, 1940, in Dayton, OH. His educational journey began at Randolph High School, from which he graduated in 1958. Butch later graduated from Wilmington College in 1963, where he not only excelled academically, making the dean's list, but also made his mark on the basketball court for the college and was a member of Tau Kappa Beta fraternity.
His professional career commenced as a teacher in Germantown, Ohio from 1963 to 1965. From 1965 until the mid-1980s, Butch worked at Foreman Industries as an industrial contractor and rigging specialist, highlighted by the complete renovation of the Moraine, OH General Motors Truck and Bus plant. He continued to advance his career in industrial contracting and rigging through 2003 when he semi-retired. Butch extended his work in various jobs through 2015 then began working for Grieve Hardware and Heatherwoode Golf Course until his passing.
He touched the lives of many as a husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Butch took great pride in working alongside his wife, Rosemary to care for their home and beautiful lawn. His unwavering support for his family was evident through his attendance at sporting events for son, Randy and granddaughter, Grace. Butch found joy in the sport of golf and tennis, becoming actively involved at various country clubs throughout the years. He was an avid supporter of Ohio State sports, often found cheering for the team with unyielding enthusiasm. Additionally, he enjoyed socializing and cultivating relationships with the Dayton Agonis Club, where he served as a member for over 50 years and was President in 1999.
Harold 'Butch" Yoder will be remembered for his vibrant spirit, strong work ethic, and unwavering support for his family and friends.
Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Heatherwoode Golf Course (88 Heatherwoode Blvd, Springboro, OH 45066).
