Harriet Elizabeth Bovelli

Harriet Elizabeth Bovelli nee Buenger, 89, of Addison and Bloomingdale, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on March 20, 2023. Harriet is survived by her loving children Sandra Bandel, Candy (Peter) Auler, Penny (Andreas) Jungermann, and Samuela (James) Memije; her grandchildren John (Mariesa) Bandel, Sonja (Chuck) Tiberi, Jayme (BJ) Gray, Andre Jungermann, and Nayelli Memije; and her great-grandchildren Bryan, William, Paisley, Sawyer, Samuel, and Isla. Harriet was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Samuel Bovelli; her siblings Harry Buenger and Cora Lee Finley nee Buenger; and her son-in-law, James Bandel. Fond aunt, friend, and mentor to so, so many.
Harriet was a longtime resident and community participant of Addison. She was heavily involved in the Addison Community Switchboard, Addison Community Television (ACTV), and Addison Trail Hight School Boosters for music, theatre, and gymnastics. Harriet was also deeply rooted in her daughter, Penny's, dance studio in Lombard for over 30 years. There, she made so many memories and cultivated relationships to last a lifetime. Upon her retirement, Harriet and her husband moved to Florida where she fulfilled her dream of working in the costuming department for Disney. She worked on shows at MGM Studios (now Hollywood Studios) such as Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage, Doug! and more. During her time in Florida, she forged the most beautiful friendships with her magnetic personality and crazy, fun energy. There are not enough words to describe how truly passionate and touching Harriet's life was. She will be greatly missed!
Visitation on Friday, March 24, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Humes Funeral Home, 320 W. Lake Street, Addison. Funeral service at Humes Funeral Home on Saturday, March 25, at 10:30 a.m. Interment private.
