Harriet Rosalie Lievens, of Chesterfield, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 16, 2022 at the age of 97. Harriet was born on August 23, 1925 in New Baltimore, Michigan to parents Eugene Bethuy and Lucy Bethuy (Marsack). Harriet was proud to have graduated from high school. She met the love of her life, Morris, while in high school, and they married on August 10, 1946. Harriet and Morris remained happily together for over fifty years until Morris' death in 2002. Harriet was the beloved mother of three daughters--Cheryl (James) Lievens Noteboom, Jeanette (the late Lance) Lievens Browning, and Maureen Lievens Boury. Cherished grandmother of Gina (Stephen) Noteboom Phillips, Matthew (Deanna) Noteboom, Jessica (Joe) Browning Nagorka, Roberta (Brad) Browning Cocco, Josh Browning, Julia (Cord) Boury Walker, and the late Tyler Boury. Dear great-grandmother of Anthony Howes, Kyle Trainor, Audrey Trainor, Evan Nagorka, Ava Nagorka, Madelynn Max, John Adkins, Dominic Oliver, Ben Cocco, Brooke Browning, Ben Browning, Aria Walker, Layla Walker, and Fynn Walker. Adored great great-grandmother of Austin Norkunas, Aliyah Howes, and Anthony Howes.
Harriet was a loving and proud homemaker who enjoyed baking, playing cards, gardening, sewing, and ceramics. She was a big Tigers and Lions fan. In 1945, Harriet was crowned as New Baltimore's first ever Winterfest Ice Queen.
Harriet is predeceased by her parents Eugene and Lucy Bethuy, her ten siblings, her husband Morris Lievens, her son-in-law Lance Browning, and her grandson Tyler Boury. She is survived by her three daughters, six grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and three great great-grandchildren. All will miss her dearly.
Visitation for Harriet will be on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 between the hours of 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM located at Wasik Funeral Home, 35259 Twenty-Three Mile Rd. (W. of Jefferson), New Baltimore, Michigan. A funeral service in Harriet's honor will occur at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Wasik Funeral Home.
