Mr. Harris Roberts, 91, of Linden, peacefully passed away Wednesday March 19, 2025 at Perry County Nursing Home surrounded by family. He lived a long fulfilling life and was a devoted family man. He was born in Perry Country to the late Johnny Presley Roberts and Lela Ann Warren Roberts of Linden. He served proudly in the US navy.
Known by many people in the area as their meter reader, he worked for MLEC visiting Perry County homes monthly for 35+ years. He enjoyed his work as he cared deeply and was always willing to lend a hand. His passion was socializing. He was a beloved coffee shop regular always known for his stories, jokes and pranks bringing laughs to many. He was a dedicated caregiver throughout the years diligently caring and looking over his family without hesitation. He adored his grandchildren and also enjoyed being outdoors, mowing the lawn and tinkering around the house. He always had time for people.
In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his siblings James Roberts, Gary Roberts, Bobby Roberts, Sammy Roberts, Billy Roberts, June Tooley and Sue Ann Roberts.
Harris was a caring and devoted husband, father and grandfather and leaves behind many cherished memories. He is survived by his loving wife Sammie Savage Roberts of 64 years, daughter Kim Roberts, five grandchildren, Anna, Eva, Laura, Eric and Patrick Inostroza, sisters Carolyn Cotham and Dorothy Jane Edwards, niece Betty Jane Cotham and a host of other loving nieces and nephews and cousins and many friends.
