Harrison L. Bruce

Harrison L. Bruce, 83, of Jacksonville, Arkansas, passed away on October 13, 2025. He was born on January 4, 1942, on Dortch Place in Scott, Arkansas, as the 14th and youngest child of William and Ellna Bruce. Harrison was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ellna Bruce; brothers, Henry, Esau, Jacob, Jeff, and Lemuel; sisters, Oree, Hazel, Ruth, Ruby, Carlene, Catherine, and Gloria.

Harrison was a lifetime member of St. Luke Baptist Church where he served in numerous capacities. His most well known capacity was Sunday School Superintendent where he served for over 30 years. He was a graduate of the Pulaski Country Training School (Harris High) class of 1960 and Arkansas Baptist College Class of 1964 where he obtained a Bachelors degree in Social Science. He also pursued a Masters in Education at Ouachita Baptist University but left his studies to join the United States Air Force from 1965-1969.

Returning from the United States Air Force, he worked at Franklin Electric in Jacksonville for 8 years. His desire for entrepreneurship led to form Bruce Construction Company in 1977 and he continued operating his company until 2014. In the early 1990s, he returned to school and was a graduate of the Full Counsel School of Ministry Class of 1992.

Loving memories left to his wife of over 50 years, Marie Singleton Bruce of Jacksonville, AR; daughter Tracey Bruce of Ft. Worth, Tx; sons Greg Bruce of Ft. Worth, Tx and Patrick Bruce of Jacksonville, AR. Bonus children, Fred and Tracy Williams of Little Rock, AR. One surviving sister, Daisy (Henry) Gipson of Chicago, IL. 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
