Harry Edward Baumann, 70, of Heath, Tex., passed away at his home on Sunday, December 7, 2025, surrounded by his family. Harry was born at St. Joseph's Hospital in Denver, Colo., on January 21, 1955, to Edward A. and Mary E. ("Paddy") Baumann. He joined his three older sisters - Mary, Ellyn and Katy, and was soon followed by three younger brothers - Tony, Joe and Jim.
Harry graduated in 1973 from Arapahoe High School in Littleton, Colo., and attended Metropolitan State College in Denver.
Although he was hired as a mechanic at Burt Chevrolet in Denver, in a very short time Harry became the dealership's top sales producer. After years of success in sales and as the dealership's Used Car Director, he moved his talents to the Dallas area where he set up several businesses, including real estate, auto wholesale and new car trade (NCT).
Harry was a gifted artist and created several beautiful landscapes, still lifes, and portraits, and he had a fine calligraphic touch. These skills led to his artistry and design of the Heath Yacht and Golf Club, Oak Grove Golf Club, and New Haven Golf Club.
One of Harry's greatest joys came relatively late in life with the birth of his son, Baylor. Harry and the love of his life, Samantha ("Sam"), delighted in watching Baylor grow and excel in sports, especially as a baseball pitcher. The family also spent considerable time on golf outings around the country and at Harry's own golf courses - New Haven in Texarkana, Ark., and Oak Grove in New Boston, Tex.
Harry is survived by his wife, Sam; their son, Baylor; his sisters and brothers - Mary, Ellyn, Tony (Edye), Joe (Rony), and Jim; nephews and nieces - Ethan, Leah, Jeremy, Zeb, Joey C., Vinnie, Dom, Joey E., and Amy; cousins, Susan and Jean; and great-nephews and great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Katy, grandparents, uncles and aunts and many cousins.
A Celebration of Harry's Life will take place at Lakepointe Church in Rockwall, Tex., at 1:00pm Friday, January 9, 2026.
