Mathew Justin Cooley, born on November 5, 1972 in Littleton, Colorado was sent to his eternal home on August 24, 2025, in Littleton, Colorado after his 37+ year battle with Lupus.

He was the beloved son of Dianne S Cooley and James Blair Cooley.

Matt, as he was affectionately known, was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and his undaunted courage. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Matt is survived by his loving parents, Dianne and Blair, his brother Jeff, sister Emily, and brother-in-law Blake. Matt also leaves behind his cherished nieces and nephews, Xander, Bailey, and Chloe.

After his graduation from Arapahoe High School, Matt embarked on his career in the aggregate industry first through Cooley Gravel and then Martin Marietta Aggregate.

Matt earned his Master's Degree in Business (MBA) through the University of Phoenix while undergoing Chemo treatments to help his immune system. He was so strong.

Matt was an avid property investor and amassed over 15 rental properties which he funded and managed.

Outside of his successful professional career, Matt found joy in guitars, photography, gaming, camping, and fishing and being with his family.

Those who knew Matt will remember him for his infectious smile, big blue eyes, overwhelming laughter and of course, his jokes. He had unwavering strength and courage.

He had a rare gift for making others smile and laugh, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed his path. Through all of Matt's health struggles, he never complained and certainly didn't take life for granted. Those who cared for Matt at Dialysis and at various hospitals enjoyed him as a patient.

Although Matt's physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May his memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth his legacy of love and compassion in all that we do. We now will live like Matt; with great strength, courage, and enduring life with vast appreciation as he did.

Donations to the Lupus foundation in Matt's name are appreciated.
