Harry Dickenson, age 90 of College Park, passed away peacefully with family and loved ones by his side on September 27. He was the second of four children born to William & Della Mae in Ashland, Kentucky on Sept. 10, 1919. He is predeceased by the love of his life and wife of 53 years Frances whom he met after being injured in France during WWII. She was his nurse. He received the Purple Heart for his bravery in France. After their marriage they moved to Orlando and lived here for 60 plus years. For many of those years he volunteered countless hours at College Park United Methodist Church and then Pine Castle Methodist Church. Also, in his 80’s, he volunteered in the library of his grandchildren’s school and loved to tell stories of all the children there. Harry to those who met him thru his family, Dick to those he met from Frances and G-dad to who loved him the most. He always thanked God for blessing him with a loving family, great friends, wonderful neighbors and this past year with awesome caregivers. He is survived by daughters Trisha Walker (Tom) and Donna Dorman (Mike) and will be missed by his grandsons, Brian & Chris Walker and Jeff & Ricky Dorman. He is also survived by one sister, Dorothy and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 1, 2009 at 2PM at the Baldwin Fairchild Lake Ivanhoe Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park in Winter Park, FL.
