We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Harry "Doug" Hibbs, who was born on October 26, 1952, and left us on August 15, 2025. Better known as Doug, he was a man of light-hearted personality, who had a deep love for many things, but none so much as his family and music.
Doug is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Hibbs; his cherished daughter, Jessica Rivera-Pena; his beloved granddaughter, Sienna Rivera-Pena; his loving mother in law Judith Wagner and his siblings, sister Dawn Gershon and brother Dean Hibbs. Each holds cherished memories of Doug and will continue his legacy of love and kindness.
Doug was a man of simple pleasures. He relished meals with his favorites being wings, burgers, and seafood, accompanied by a refreshing Mojito, Margarita or German wine. An avid music lover, he preferred the harmonious tunes of The Beatles and playing guitar in his band named "The Elements". His legacy will surely include sharing this love for music with his daughter.
In his spare time, Doug enjoyed watching the Twilight Zone and found joy in art pieces by The Beatles and Led Zeppelin. He was a dedicated fan of the Eagles and cherished his bike rides. Doug had a special place in his heart for Long Beach Island, often considering that his favorite spot for relaxation.
A game of Monopoly was always a welcome activity, and Doug maintained a long-standing passion for the causes he cared about. He was stationed in Alaska in the Air Force, his service being an important part of his life's journey.
Doug's cheerful spirit and enduring love for his family and music will forever be in our hearts. He will be profoundly missed and fondly remembered.

Details for his Life Celebration will follow in the next few days.
