Harry Malone Obituary
February 16, 1938 - December 21, 2025
Wichita, Kansas - Fr. Harry Patrick Malone, a priest of the Diocese of Wichita for 56 years, passed away Sunday, December 21. He was 87.
He was born on February 16, 1938, to Harold H. and Monica (Flakus) Malone in Wichita. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Hal (Kasey), Tim and Mike; and sister, Nancy (Jim) Schaefer.
He is survived by his brother, Don and wife Rosemary; and many nieces and nephews; grand and great-grand nieces and nephews; as well as numerous brother priests, friends, parishioners, and caregivers.
After graduating from Marquette University with a degree in electrical engineering he served in the Navy on board the USS Shangri-La.
He studied at Kenrick–Glennon Divinity School in St. Louis and was ordained a priest on June 7, 1969, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Wichita by Bishop Carroll.
After graduating from seminary, he served at Christ the King in Wichita, Our Lady of Lourdes in Pittsburgh, Barquisimeto, Venezuela, Trinity High School in Hutchinson, Our Lady of Guadalupe in Newton, St. Mary's in Derby, and his final 16 years at Holy Savior in Wichita. He retired in June 2008.
Rosary will be at 7:00 pm, Sunday, December 28, 2025; Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am, Monday, December 29, 2025, both at Holy Savior Catholic Church.
