Henry J. Monteith, Jr., 88, of Marlton, New Jersey, known affectionately as Harry to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025, in Marlton, New Jersey. Born on February 12, 1937, in Darby, Pennsylvania, to the late Henry J. Monteith, Sr. and Estelle 'Ted' Monteith nee Walkerservice to his country, and a passion for community involvement.
Harry honorably served in the US Marine Corps, a testament to his patriotism and sense of duty. After his military service, he channeled his leadership skills into the business world, where he owned and operated P & M Industries for over 40 years.
A graduate of Merchantville High School, Harry's commitment to education and personal growth was a lifelong pursuit. He was a man who believed in the value of hard work and the importance of giving back to the community. In the 1980s, he ran the Marlton Rec Council and coached baseball and soccer, shaping the lives of young athletes with his wisdom and encouragement.
Harry's love for sports extended well beyond the playing field. He was an avid golfer, finding joy and camaraderie on the greens. His dedication as a fan was unwavering, especially when it came to the Philadelphia Phillies, whose games he seldom missed. His enthusiasm for sports was also evident in his support for his grandson Ian's baseball career, following his achievements with pride and admiration.
Family was the cornerstone of Harry's life. Though predeceased by his beloved wife, Barbara A. Monteith, and his sister, Carole Rodgers, his legacy lives on through his son, John M. Monteith, and his cherished grandchildren, Alexis, Regan, and Ian Monteith. He is also survived by his siblings, Michael Monteith, Dennis Monteith, and Regina Zebley, his long-time partner, Isrid "Pippi" Schneider, and many nieces and nephews who will fondly remember his guidance and love.
A devout parishioner of St. Joan of Arc Church, Harry's faith was a source of strength and comfort throughout his life. His commitment to his faith community was unwavering, and he served with a generous and humble heart.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, on Friday, November 21, 2025, at the Bradley Funeral Home, 601 Rt 73 South and Evesham Rd, Marlton, NJ 08053. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 am, at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Locustwood Memorial Park in Cherry Hill, NJ.
