Harry Moore Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Auble Funeral Home - Orrville on Dec. 21, 2025.
Together Again
Harry L. Moore, age 91, of Orrville, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at his home in Orrville, surrounded by his loving family, following a long battle with cancer.
Harry was born on July 14, 1934 in Coal Fork, WV to Richard Moore and Sadie (Durham) Moore. He married the love of his life, Kathleen M. Woods, on August 23, 1958, in Hugheston, WV.
Harry was a proud member of the 7365th Air Base Squadron of the United States Air Force for 8 years, where he was an Airman Second Class, and served his country with honor. After completing his military service, he ran Harry and Kathy's Parkway Restaurant with his wife before working for multiple companies, including Weather Seal and Kidron, Inc., until his retirement. After his retirement from Kidron, Inc., Harry went on to continue working as a floral delivery driver for Buehler's until the age of 84, when he retired a second time.
Harry was a man of unwavering faith, and his love of Jesus Christ was evident in every aspect of his life. He was an active member of Orrville Baptist Church where he was a deacon, a role he proudly filled for many years. He and Kathy were also former Lion's Club members. He also enjoyed serving as a host family with his wife, opening their home to hockey players from the Wooster Oilers for many years.
He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather and loyal friend to many. Spending time with family and friends was something he greatly enjoyed, and you could often find him sitting on his porch swing talking and enjoying their company.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his son, Rodney (Tina) Moore of Wooster; daughter, Lisa (Gary) Lepley of Orrville; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Robert) Strickland of Nashville, NC, Casie (Kevin) Kesner of Orrville, Brant Moore of Orrville, Jessica Lepley of Orrville, Jarrod (Hallie) Lepley of Smithville, and Michaela (Tate) Harding of Wooster; three great grandchildren, Joshua Andrews, Isabella Kesner, and Grayson Strickland; one great great grandchild, Richard Gonzalez, V; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends John Sommer, Sr. and Charlotte Sheneman; and his faithful dog, Sophi.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Kathleen; his son, Steven; his parents, Richard and Sadie; his brother, James; and his sister, Alverta Brown.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, December 26th from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Orrville Baptist Church. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 27th at Orrville Baptist Church, with Pastor Brad Dews officiating. Burial will take place immediately following the service at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville. The funeral service will be livestreamed by the church to the facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/orrvillebaptistchurch.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made to Ohio's Hospice LifeCare, 1900 Akron Road, Wooster, OH 44691, www.ohioshospice.org.
