Harry Rodriguez Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jesse Johnson Funeral Home - Allentown on Mar. 9, 2026.
We celebrate the life of our beloved Harry J. Rodriguez aka Sasquatch. Born August 3, 1957 in the Bronx, NY to Maria Nieves and Rodolfo Rodriguez. He was a proud Nuyorican. He was raised by his mother in an apartment building in the Bronx surrounded by family and beautiful memories. Harry told us stories of his German Shepard who would protect his rice and beans-eating bunny and never let anyone get close to the bunny. When Harry was 19, he and his mother Maria moved to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania to be close to family. That is where he started working as an orderly at St. Luke's Hospital and met the mother of his 3 sons, Harry Jr., Felipe, and Anthony. Harry then became a corrections officer for Lehigh County and also worked security part-time. Harry had very interesting, humorous stories where he talked about his interactions with various celebrities. From his famous feud with Michael Bolton lol, eating chicken with Brock Lesnar, and being a personal bodyguard for Liv Tyler and how appreciative and cool Steven Tyler was. Harry was an easygoing man who coined phrases such as "imagine that…" "consider the source" "tuck and roll" and his famous Chewbacca Grrrrr. He was memorable and will never be forgotten. He was charming and sassy with the biggest heart. Everyone loved Harry and Harry loved everyone. He was a Gentle Giant who would cry with you when you were sad or buy you ice cream to cheer you up. When he knew you were okay, he'd throw a sassy comment, and when you'd look at him, he would give you that big Harry smile so you'd know he was joking. Harry was an amazing person and would do anything for anyone. He will be missed. Harry is survived by his sons and their wives: Harry Rodriguez Jr. and Jessica Rodriguez, Felipe Rodriguez and Priscila Rosario, Anthony Rodriguez and Hilda Vargas, as well as his extended children. His beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Siblings Tammy, Martin, and Ritchie. Nieces and Nephews. Many loving cousins and friends who became family. Though no longer with us, Harry's warmth, spirit, and boundless love remain eternal.
