Obituary of Peter Dietz

Peter "Pete" Dietz, age 92, departed this life on March 6, 2026.

Pete was born in Roanoke, Virginia on August 7, 1933 to Joseph B. Dietz and Katherine E. "Kate" Dietz. The DuPont Company brought the family to Wilmington, where Pete graduated from Mount Pleasant High School, then earned a B.S. from Lehigh University and then an M.B.A from Temple University. Pete spent his career in the plastics industry and was an expert in plastics molding and welding. After retiring, he began his Pete's Peanuts business. He was affectionately known as the "Mayor of Thornton".

Pete is survived by his beloved wife Beverly Price Dietz, his daughters Jeanette C. Funi of Maitland FL and Caroline A. Mendez (Eddie) of Duluth GA, his son, Peter E. Dietz of Wilmington DE, his grandchildren Cara Mia Funi, Evan B. Mendez, Kathryn E. Dietz and John D. Dietz, his stepdaughters Donna Price (Alex), Cynthia Hallock (David), Vance Kistler, his sister, Penny Sullivan (Paul) of New Bern NC, and his niece Courtney Sullivan (Mike), and nephews Todd Sullivan, Stephen Dietz, and David Dietz.

A visitation for Pete will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Bethlehem Methodist Church, 4 Westtown Road, Thornton PA 19373, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at the church cemetery, with a luncheon at the church beginning at 12:30 PM.
