Peter Thomas Vishton

Peter Thomas Vishton, a devoted husband, cherished father, and doting grandfather, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2026, in Williamsburg, VA, at the age of 78. Born on March 12, 1947, in Penns Grove, NJ, Peter lived a life filled with love, adventure, and dedication to his family and community.

Peter was the beloved son of the late Dorothy Bakan Vishton and John Peter Vishton. He graduated from Frankford High School in Philadelphia, PA, and went on to earn his degree from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. During his time at Drexel, Peter was a proud member of the Pi Lam fraternity from 1964 to 1969.

Professionally, Peter dedicated his career to environmental engineering with Pfizer, where he made lasting contributions to the field. He was also an active member of the ISPE Association, reflecting his commitment to professional excellence and innovation.

A man of diverse interests and passions, Peter found joy in distance and marathon running, often challenging himself and inspiring others with his dedication. He loved spending time at the beach, hiking, and reading historical novels. Peter's green thumb was evident in his impressive garden, where he grew the best tomatoes. His culinary talents were showcased in his fabulous pea soup, and he thoroughly enjoyed gazpacho and Philly cheesesteaks.

Peter's heart was fullest when he was surrounded by his family, especially his grandchildren, with whom he shared endless stories and laughter. He was also a passionate supporter of the Philadelphia Eagles, always eager to cheer on his team.

Peter's faith was an integral part of his life, and he attended the Ark Church in Nags Head, NC. He also enjoyed the camaraderie of fellow runners in the Delco Road Runners Club.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Jodie Vishton; his loving sister, Barbara Vishton; and his caring brother, John Vishton. Peter is also remembered with love by his son, Peter M. Vishton (Jennifer); daughter, Paige Boesen (Sven Tofte); granddaughters, Jacqueline Vishton and Grace Boesen; and grandson, Sebastian Vishton. He leaves behind treasured friendships with Tammi and Jaimie Florio, as well as dear friend Donna Davis.

A private graveside service will be held in Thornton, PA, at a later date. Peter's memory will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved him.

May he rest in eternal peace, knowing his legacy of love, kindness, and strength continues through the lives he touched.
