Youngstown – Harry "Wickie" Wheland, 87, passed away peacefully Friday evening, October 10, 2025, at Hospice House with his loving daughter Pamela by his side.

Harry was born May 8, 1938, in Youngstown, the son of Edwin & Helen Bower Wheland.

Harry attended East High School and served in the U.S. Army. He worked for Valley Mold & Iron for 30 years, Brainard Strapping and Girard Hardware. He enjoyed coaching his daughter's softball team, playing weekend card games with the neighbors, and just having fun. He loved his family dearly and was always there for them.

Harry married the love of his life, the former Georgiann Majors, on July 26, 1955.

He is survived by his daughter, Pamela (John) Lucansky; estranged daughter, Tammey DeVicchio; grandchildren, Stephanie (Mark) Donahue of Hudson, who he loved and raised as his own, Granden Armstrong, Megan Chearno, Nicholas DeVicchio, Madison Lucansky of Cincinnati and Seth (fiance Marian) Lucansky, six great grandchildren; sister, Sandy Nalepa; sister-in-law, Nancy (George)Millovich; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Georgiann, who passed away June 26, 2021; brothers Ronald, Edwin, William; and sister, Marjorie Franklin.

Family and friends may call Wednesday, October 15, 2025, from 5 to 6 p.m. followed by a 6 p.m. funeral service at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman.

The family would like to thank the nurses at Boardman St. Elizabeth ICU and 6 West along with the nurses at Hospice of the Mahoning Valley for the care and compassion shown in his final days.
