Harry Sam Wilcoxen, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 23rd, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on November 9th, 1949, in Bartlett, Ohio, Sam was a cherished resident of Belpre, Ohio, where he spent his later years surrounded by family and friends.
Sam was a proud graduate of Warren High School, Class of 1967. Following his education, he served his country with honor in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. His dedication to service continued throughout his career as a Highway Technician with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), where he worked diligently until his retirement.
A man of many passions, Sam was an active member of the American Legion, Post 64. He had a deep love for classic cars, enjoyed reading, and found peace in relaxing with his loved ones. His warm smile and kind heart touched everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Sam is survived by his three children, Dawn Misel (Marc Mousseux), Sam Wilcoxen (Sara), and Jessica Smith (Joe). He was a proud grandfather to Tyler, Cody, Haley, Clint, Emma, Jade, Andrew, and Faith, and a cherished great-grandfather to June, Rebecca, Julen, Jaylee, and Liam. Sam is also survived by his sister, Bonnie Beach, and brother, Robert Wilcoxen, along with many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Sam Wilcoxen and Dorothy L. Wilcoxen, his beloved spouse, Janet Louise Wilcoxen, his brother, Kenny Wilcoxen, and his sisters, Elaine Ashley and Candace Wilcoxen.
A graveside service of full military honors to honor and celebrate Sam's life will be held at Bartlett Cemetery in Bartlett, Ohio, on Saturday, June 7th, 2025, at 11:00 am. Family and friends are invited to attend and pay their respects to a man who brought joy and love to so many.
