Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jones & Son Funeral Home - Oneida on Aug. 5, 2025.
Harry T. Woodward, age 57, of Widows Lane, Pioneer, TN, went to be in the arms of Jesus Christ on Saturday, August 2, 2025. Prayers were very strong for 3.5 years in his battle with colon rectal cancer. Born at Scott County Hospital on February 7, 1968, he was the son of the late Ivan and Dorothy Cross Woodward. He was a born again Christian and a member of the Low Gap Missionary Baptist Church where he enjoyed attending even when he did not feel good from all the surgery, chemotherapy and radiation.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister: Vergie Harness Manis; brothers: Larry George Keeton, and Sylvester 'Buggie' Keeton.
Harry leaves behind his daughter: Annalyne Woodward; son: Kayleb Woodward; Ginger his loyal companion, a Golden Lab who brought him joy and comfort; sisters: Judy Faye Martin and husband Kenneth, Amanda Sands and husband Eddy; niece: Kelly Short and husband Shawn; special nieces that he claimed as his daughters: Amber Smithers and husband Dustin and their children: Shaley and Westley; Malesha Goodman and husband Brad and their children: Clay and Brilee; nieces: Lindsey Sands, Crystal Stanley and husband Chris, Courtney Polattie and husband Troy; nephews: Justin, Travis and Michael Keeton; best fishing buddy and part time care giver: Justin Strunk; fishing buddy: his son Kayleb; deer hunting buddies: Chris and James Newport, and Kenny Bolton; as well as many other family members and friends.
So many prayers were answered during his cancer battle. The main one was to cure him. God makes that healing possible, but sometimes God gives 'No' for the answer and that's okay, it's His will. Harry talked about living longer to be a disciple to tell everyone about Jesus, but he did that daily, talking about things, even little things, God had done during his illness. He would say that wasn't enough. He wanted to encourage his friends to come to Church. Come to Jesus to be saved and come to Heaven with him.
The family wants to give a special thank you to Hospice nurses: Brenda Smith, what an angel you are, and Renee and Tieann, Grace Primary Care, Dr. Tim Smith, Buckeye Medical Supply and Scott County Pharmacy, and we love you for what you did during his last days.
Friends may visit with the Woodward family on Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Rev. James Taylor and Bro. Jeff Wade officiating. Music will be provided by Amanda Sands.
