Grief is never easy. Hartmut H Malluche, MD, FACP 1943-2025
Dr. Malluche was born in Breslau, Germany. His youth was heavily influenced by the hardships of growing up in post-world war Germany. He moved to Los Angeles, CA, in 1975 where he accepted a position at the University of Southern California Medical Center. In 1981 he came to Lexington, KY as Chief of Nephrology, Bone and Mineral Metabolism at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. He served as Chief of this Division and Robert G. "Robin" Luke Chair in Nephrology until his retirement from administrative duties in 2022. He continued his work as a physician & research scientist as Vice Chief of Research for Nephrology up until his death.
Dr. Malluche and his family moved to Versailles in 1986. He was a third-generation physician who was dedicated to his patients' well-being, a passionate research scientist specializing in kidney and bone health and was continuously NIH-funded for over 40 years. He was a passionate Thoroughbred owner & breeder, but above all, a loving and much-loved family man. He will be missed more than words can tell. Sincerely, The Malluche Family.
Please join us for his memorial service on March 8th, Noon, followed by refreshments at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home, 161 Broadway, Versailles, KY 40383.
