Harvey Chisamore Obituary

Harvey Chisamore Jr. passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025.He was born on October 31, 1935, in Mason, Texas, to Lettie K. Chisamore and Harvey F. Chisamore, both of whom preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his longtime friend Nina Foster and his loyal canine companion Brutus.

Harvey proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years, retiring at the rank of Technical Sergeant. A Vietnam veteran, he was stationed at Ben Tuy Airbase in South Vietnam and received two Air Force Commendation Medals for outstanding performance. Known for his leadership, integrity, and devotion to excellence, Harvey served his country with pride and honor - qualities he carried throughout his life.

After his military service, Harvey retired from the City of Corpus Christi Gas Division after 24 years as a Large Meter Technician. His work ethic, precision, and reliability earned him the respect of coworkers and his community.

Harvey was preceded in death by his daughters Deborah Sabo and Vonda Deane; his sons-in-law Wendell Ross and Jack Sabo; his granddaughter Kristina Pitman; his sisters Olga Fay Montgomery and Arvilla Sturdivant; and his brothers-in-law J.C. Montgomery and Martin Sturdivant.

He is survived by his children Terri Ross, Harvey "Randy" Chisamore (Mandy), and Cheryl Deal (Jerry); 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, three nieces, and many cousins.

If hard work could be considered a hobby, it was his favorite. He also deeply enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time on the porch at "The Only Girl" with his grandson Harvey Randal Chisamore Jr., sharing stories and laughter.

Harvey loved taking his bright red 1983 Camaro Z-28 for a drive - "blowing out the carbon" down Chapman Ranch Road at 85 to 90 miles an hour, as he would proudly say.

He lived a life filled with respect, dignity, and love - values he instilled in all who knew him.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. Followed by a Funeral Service with Military Honors at 11:30 a.m. at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel 4357 Ocean Drive, Corpus Christi, Texas 78412.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff at Spohn Hospital Shoreline (especially Saara), Spohn Hospital South (especially Edgar), and Christus Hospice and Palliative Spohn (especially Sundi) for the care, respect, and dignity they showed Harvey in his final days.

Some called him Mr. Chisamore, some called him Harvey, some called him Grandpa, some called him Pawpaw -but all were proud to call him Dad.

Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are Harvey R. Chisamore Jr., Samuel G. Chisamore, Michael J. Chisamore, Wayne A. Ross, Jeffrey J. Sabo, Braxton S. Chisamore, Justin R. Deal, and Kevin P. Deal.
