Clara Lee Patterson Isaacks, 92, passed away on November 4, 2025 at the Mirador Retirement home after a long illness. She was surrounded by her family. Clara was born in Schattel, Texas on August 6, 1933 to the late Robert and Flossie Patterson. She was one of five children born to Robert and Flossie and the children were all raised in
Corpus Christi, Texas. Clara attended Corpus Christi High School and would later work at the Corpus Christi Caller-Times in the photography department.
In 1957, Clara met her loving husband, Marion Howard "Red" Isaacks, and they were married on September 7, 1957, in Beeville, Texas. They spent the next 49 years of their lives together and she remained by his side until he passed in 2006.
Clara spent much of her life being a Navy wife and taking care of her four children, Ronald, Elizabeth, Patrick and Kelly, while Red was deployed. She learned how to handle any problem that would come up. She'd say Dad would leave on a 9-month cruise and immediately the washing machine would break. She could handle anything because she had four children that needed her. Clara had grit, determination and devotion to her family and friends. She was adored by her family and will forever be held dearly in their hearts.
Clara was also an artist and enjoyed painting flowers, animals, and landscapes. Of all the physical things she left behind, her paintings are the most coveted items of all. Perhaps the most remembered things about Clara were her love for vodka martinis and politics. She was known at the Mirador as "The Trump Lady." She impacted so many lives with her wit, generosity and loving personality. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Flossie Patterson; her sisters, Nancy (Harry) Kuebler, Mary Jo (Donald) Ashmore, Lillie Ann (Albert) Covington; and brother, James Robert "Bobby" (Doris) Patterson. She was also preceded in death by her son, Ronald Lee (Doreta) Isaacks of Lakewood, Colorado. Clara is survived by her two daughters, Elizabeth Ann "Liz" Laubach (Brian Bashant) of Meridian, Mississippi, Kelly Isaacks of
Corpus Christi, Texas; and one son, Patrick (Tami) Isaacks of
Corpus Christi, Texas; four grandsons, Tony and Andrew Laubach and Matthew and Nathaniel Isaacks; two granddaughters, Eve (Adam) Bernard and Suzann (John) Munoz; four great-grandsons; and two great-granddaughters; and always vicious but loving companion, Zoey.
