Harvey Wayne Dickensheets passed away peacefully on October 2, 2024, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado, of natural causes. Born on May 1, 1936 in Denver, Colorado to Helen Mae Dickensheets (Lord) and Harley Wells Dickensheets. Harvey loved golfing, fishing and spending time with family.
He worked as a Civil Engineer for the Bureau of Reclamation, where he contributed to many projects during his career. Harvey's love for the outdoors and his dedication to his profession were matched only by the love he had for his family.
Harvey is survived by his sister, Betty Foxley, and his children: Jayme (Tom) Bourque of Oogden, Utah; Curt Dickensheets of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; Chris Dickensheets of Athol, Idaho; Julie (Bruce) Inman of Grand Junction, Colorado; Jill (Robert) Jurca of Delta, Colorado. He also leaves behind five cherished grandchildren: Colin Bourque, Brenna Bourque, Jenica Bourque, Sara Jurca, and Ana Jurca. He was preceded in death by his mother Helen Dickensheets and Father Harley Dickensheets, his twin brother Harley Dickensheets Jr., Brother Fritz Dickensheets and Sister Edith Scott.
A small family gathering will be held at a later date to honor Harvey’s life.
