Harvey Jefferson "Jeff" Green, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on January 26, 1957, to his parents, Nathan and Mary Nell Green. He devoted 36 years of his life to working at Ciba/Huntsman Chemical. His easy-going nature and keen sense of humor touched the lives of all those who knew him.
Jeff's unwavering love for his family was evident in everything he did. He cherished his wife of 49 years, Lela "BaBa" Green, and embraced moments spent with family and friends, always ready to lend a helping hand. Whether it was taking his sister-in-law Petey on early morning shopping trips or driving friends to their doctor appointments, Jeff was known for his selflessness and generosity.
A true animal lover, Jeff found joy in the company of horses, cats, and dogs, all of which enriched his life. He had a special affinity for Triumph motorcycles and was proudly known for his classic yellow Volkswagen Beetle, always tinkering with it as a beloved pastime. His interests also included a fascination with firearms, knives, and learning about World War I and II, as well as a deep appreciation for the nostalgia of old cars and the timeless shows "M*A*S*H" and "Gunsmoke."
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan and Mary Nell Green; his son, Clint Green; and his brother, David Green.
Jeff is survived by his wife, BaBa Green; brothers, Norman(Elaine) Green and Fred Green; special sister in law, Carolyn Thompson; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
Pallbearers will be, Danny Green, Marcus Green, Brad Williams, Chad Williams, Joe Carlisle, and Jason Thomas.
Honorary Pallbearers are Dave Woodyard, Violet Wilson, Dennis Pugh, Richard Knapp, Eddie Ryser, Mac Henley, Carolyn Thompson, Lisa Bailey, and Ann Parnell.
Jeff's legacy will be honored with a funeral service on December 17, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson. Prior to this, there will be a public visitation to take place from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Jeff will be laid to rest at Stave Creek Baptist Cemetery.
As we reflect on Jeff's life, let us celebrate his warm spirit, wit, and the countless memories he created. He will be missed deeply by his family and community, but his love and laughter will forever echo in our hearts. May he rest in peace
