Brenda Joyce Ready, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on May 23, 1945, Brenda lived a life full of adventure, love, and creativity. She embraced the role of a military wife, traveling extensively and forming lasting friendships with fascinating individuals along the way.
Brenda was a true Renaissance woman, known for her artistic talents in ceramics during her younger years and a passion for painting in her later life. Her creativity extended beyond her art; she was an avid reader with a particular love for mysteries and true crime novels, always eager to explore the depths of a compelling story.
As a devoted fan of the University of Alabama football team, Brenda could recite player rosters and statistics with impressive precision, showcasing her love for the sport and her unwavering support for the Crimson Tide.
Above all, Brenda found her greatest joy in being "Nanny" to her grandchildren. She cherished every moment spent watching them grow, play, and thrive, creating countless memories that will forever warm the hearts of those lucky enough to know her.
Brenda is preceded in death by her husbands, Leon Andrews and James Edward Ready; parents, Alvie and Frances Thomas; and her half-sister, Nell Thomas Runyan.
Brenda is survived by her loving children, Sherri Cazares (Tony), Mike Ready (Jackie), and Brent Ready (Charity); grandchildren, Brandi Cunningham (Michael), Patrick Cazares (Allyssen), Tyler Ready (Pavithra), Dalton Ready, Shannon Cazares, and Dakota Ready; great grandchildren, Owen Cunningham, Charlie Cazares, and Amelia Cunningham; as well as many other relatives and dear friends, who carry on her vibrant spirit and profound legacy.
Funeral services to celebrate her remarkable life will be held on December 11, 2025, at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson. A public visitation will take place at 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to gather to honor Brenda's enduring spirit, share stories, and reflect on the beautiful moments she gifted to all who knew her.
Brenda Joyce Ready will be dearly missed, but her legacy of love, creativity, and adventure will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.
