Hattie Aebly

Hattie Aebly, 86, of Freeport, passed away Tuesday November 15, 2022, at Winn Prairie Assisted Care. Hattie was born January 23, 1936, in Dakota, Illinois, the daughter of John and Paula (Gruber) Enzinger. She married Victor Aebly on July 30, 1953, in Afolkey. She was a member of Park Hills Evangelical Free Church. Hattie enjoyed following all Chicago sports teams, watching old English movies, and Jeopardy. Hattie looked forward every year to wintering in Biloxi, Mississippi.
Surviving is her husband, Victor of Freeport; three sons, Stephen (Terrina) Aebly of Mt. Carroll, Richard (Kym) Aebly of Madison, Wisconsin, and William (Lisa) of Winslow; daughter, Valerie (John) Burington of Orangeville; brother, Edward (Ruth) Enzinger of Dakota; also surviving are 15 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildern.
Hattie was preceded in death by her brother, John Enzinger; and grandson, Nicholas Aebly.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday November 26, 2022, at the Oneco Cemetery. Rev. Chris Stukenberg will officiate. A memorial has been established for Park Hills Evangelical Free Church in Hattie's memory.
