Victor Aebly Obituary
Victor J. Aebly, 90, of Freeport, passed away Friday, September 15, 2023, at Winn Prairie Assisted Care. Victor was born April 9, 1933, in Oneco, Illinois, the son of Clarence and Helen (Pagel) Aebly. He married Hattie Enzinger on July 30, 1953, in Afolkey. He also served in the Korean war from 1953 to 1955 and was honorably discharged. Vic was a member of Park Hills Evangelical Free Church. Vic enjoyed attending Church (where he was an usher), playing cards, reading and visiting with family and friends. Vic also looked forward every year to wintering in Biloxi, Mississippi.
Surviving are three sons, Stephen (Terrina) Aebly of Mt. Carroll, Richard (Kym) Aebly of Madison, Wisconsin, and William (Lisa) of Winslow; daughter, Valerie (John) Burington of Orangeville; also surviving are 15 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Vic was preceded in death by his wife Hattie (Enzinger) Aebly, sisters, Jean H. Aebly, Nancy L. (Aebly) Barrett, brother, Stanley L. Aebly; and grandson, Nicholas J. Aebly.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday September 30, 2023, at the Oneco Cemetery. Rev. Rich Graham will officiate. Lunch will be provided to family and friends at Orangeville United Methodist Church following the service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Vic's memory.
