Hattie Ravenell Obituary
Hattie Ravenell, 74, transitioned peacefully at home on May 2, 2024. She was born in Parrish, FL on November 18, 1949. She was the eighth child born to the union of Joseph Johnson, Sr., and Luvenia Dozier Johnson, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded by four sisters, Louise Roberts, Bernice Crumdy, Etta Crosby, and Della Jackson, and three brothers, Joseph Johnson, Jr., Isaiah Johnson, Sr., and David Johnson I.
At an early age, she joined St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church. Hattie received her education from Lincoln Memorial in Palmetto, Florida. Hattie lived an ideal life and was highly respected and loved by many. She was a fun-loving person and always had a smile on her face. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She leaves a legacy of strength, compassion, and love for her family members and others to follow.
"To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born and a time to die." Ecclesiastes 3:1-2a
On May 2, 2024, Hattie heard the voice of Jesus saying to "move on up a little higher." She gave her notice of change of address. The legacy of her seasons is cherished and left to her family.
Hattie Ravenell was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She leaves to cherish her memory and mourn her transitioning: her daughters, Missionary Towanda Johnson Brinson (Carlos) and Jessica Ravenell; Siblings, Elease Williams and Willie Lee Johnson; granddaughters, Carletta Brinson-James (George) and Cardrena Brinson; great-granddaughter, Samari Rhodes; great-grandsons, George Brinson-James, Carson Brinson- James, and Earnest Brinson-Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other caring, supportive family and friends.
