Hazel Edna Rogers Brown, age 82, passed away on December 18, 2025, at Tender Nest Memory care in Billings, Montana, surrounded by love and the enduring legacy of a life defined by service, resilience, creativity, and devotion to family.
Born on February 19, 1943, in Abingdon, Virginia, Edna was the daughter of Thomas Edgar Rogers and Virginia Rose Blevins Rogers.
Family was the center of Edna's life. Her commitment to those she loved was unwavering and unconditional. She was married to Duane Gordon Brown, her partner in life and love, until his passing in 2008.
Edna is survived by her daughters Angela Johnson (Dennis) and Cynthia Kwasney (Scott), both of Billings. Grandchildren Brandi Skinner, David Skinner of Billings, Astin Thimm (Rob) of Park City, UT., MacKenzie Brown (A.J.), Hannah Frank (Sebastian) of Billings, Sarah Donaldson (Trevor) of New Mexico, Matthew Kwasney of Boise, ID., Tanner Major and Caden Major-­Brown of Billings. Great Grandchildren Casey Skinner-Thomas (Nate), Piper, and Brady Skinner all of Billings. Sophia and Sadie Thimm of Park City, UT. Lydia, Leonardo, and Charlotte Frank of Billings. She is also survived by her brother Thomas Rogers (Pamela) of Florida, sister Geraldine Oakley (Earl) of Virginia, sister-in-law Marylou Stubbs of Sidney, MT, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas Rogers and Virginia Rogers; her husband Duane Brown, children Juanita Morey, Joseph Brown; her sisters Mary Lu Plymale Shirley Toler, brothers-in law Roger Plymale and Chuck Toler as well as numerous nieces and in-laws.
