Hazel Davis Obituary

Hazel Elaine Metts Davis, of Savannah, GA passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026.

Born July 25, 1939 in Douglas, GA, she was the daughter of the late James Everett Metts and the late Ruth Giddens Metts. Hazel worked for many years at Savannah Speech and Hearing and as an advocate for the deaf community. She was a sign language interpreter for many organizations including her church, Southside Baptist Church.

She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years Lynn W. Davis, sister Debra Ann Metts, sons; Randy (Beth), Rick (Huythong) and Chris of Savannah, GA. She is also survived by her three grandchildren; Justin, Mathew, Ashley, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Charles E. Metts and sister Hilda 'Heidi' Metts Dober.

The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Southside Baptist Church followed by a service in the church at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2026.

A graveside service will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Southside Baptist Church, 5502 Skidaway Road, Savannah, GA 31406.
