Hazel Freshour, 98, of Marion, NC, transitioned to Heaven, January 7, 2026, at her residence.
Hazel was born September 23, 1927 in Marion, NC, daughter of the late Kelly & Emma Plemmons.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Rev. Arelin Freshour; her son, Rev. Don Freshour; her grandson, Samuel Freshour; her son-in-law, Brian Bonorden; and all five of her siblings.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Nancy Elliott (Charles) and Linda Bonorden (Brian); daughter in law, Lynda Freshour; grandchildren, Tim Freshour, Weylin & Westin Bonorden, Natalie and Angela Elliott; great grandchildren, Dustin Freshour (Casee), Wyatt & Kiley Bonorden; and great-great grandchildren, Corbin & Turner Freshour.
Hazel was a home maker, mother and supporter of her husband's ministry. Her joy in life was worshiping God. She loved hymns, both singing & listening to them. Ten years ago, she became part of Grace Community Church. She loved gardening, cooking, sewing, quilting, and was a master seamstress. Most of all, she dearly loved all of her family. She loved everyone and was loved by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 11, 2026, at the Beam Celebration Center. Rev. Jerry Lewis and Rev. Richard Anderson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the celebration center.
