Hazel H. Jordan

Hazel Harrell Jordan, 93, of Virginia Beach, VA died peacefully at her home of sixty-five years surrounded by her loving family on Monday, November 21, 2022. She was born May 4, 1929, in New Hope, NC to the late Thomas Mills Harrell and Elizabeth Nash Harrell and was the widow of Monford Forbes Jordan. She was a homemaker most of her life.
She is survived by daughters, Donna Serres (Michael) of Oregon City, OR, and Luanne Jordan; grandson, Thomas Jordan (Parker); and great-granddaughter Adrianna Lynn Jordan, all of Virginia Beach, VA. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Audrey Smithson (Hersey) and Marvoureen Scott (Charles), both of Elizabeth City, NC.
When her children were young, she was a homemaker. As they grew up, she and her husband started a hairdressing business in their home. Her last job outside the home was as a Bank teller at Sovran Bank (Virginia National Bank).
A private graveside service was held at New Hollywood Cemetery on Saturday, November 26, 2022, with the Rev. F Joe Griffith officiating.
