Hazel Norton Obituary

Hazel Duveen Norton, 92 of Harrison, passed away Tuesday, February 24, at her home.
She was born January 21, 1934, at Harrison, to Arlis Matthew and Virgie Walters Murphy Baughman. On March 28, 1953, she married Vernon Ray Norton at Harrison. They never had children of their own, but were instrumental in the lives of their nephews and nieces, loving and guiding them as if they were their own.
Mrs. Norton was a faithful member of Northvale Baptist Church since 1949. She worked in retail for many years, serving in a variety of businesses throughout the community. She and her husband also operated a resale booth for several years. She enjoyed making flower arrangements in her home and loved being outdoors tending to her flowers. She found joy in the beauty of God's creation and took pride in the blooms she carefully nurtured. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and three brothers, Roy Dean Baughman, Clifford Baughman, and Glenn Baughman.
Survivors include a brother, Lee Baughman of Harrison; a sister, Karen Moore (Ron) of Harrison; numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins; and many friends who will miss her gentle presence.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 26, at Holt Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery under the direction of Holt Memorial Chapel.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time on Thursday, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Northvale Baptist Church, 310 North Adams Street, Harrison, AR 72601.
