Hazel C. Peebles, of Independence, KY, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at the glorious age of 100 years old. The daughter of the late Bessy {Gill} and William Conner, Hazel was born in Harrison County, KY, on June 25, 1922. She was married to her beloved husband, Leslie G. Hazel attended Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Independence for many years. She was a seamstress for most of her life and enjoyed sewing and creating garments for herself and others. She loved to read, garden flowers, and was known for her hand-written letters made out to her friends and family. She most of all cherished the time spent with her family.
She will be deeply missed by her son, Richard (Barbara) Peebles; grandchildren Leslie, Julie, Tina, Shonda, Shane, Christy, Shelley, Janis, Delia, and Bridie; great-grandchildren Caitlyn, Kristen, Nathan, and Deron John II; and great-great-grandson Deron John III.
In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Leslie G. Peebles, son Gary Ross Peebles, and sister Beulah Roaden.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 22 from 10 AM up until the start of her funeral at 12 PM at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike Independence, KY 41051. She will be laid to rest at Independence Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Kenton County Public Library - William E.
