HAZEL MARIE ROWLAND, age 82, of Washington Court House, passed away at 11:52 a.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at St. Catherines Manor of Washington C.H. Born on May 19, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Freeman and Dorothy M. Gibson Harper.

During her lifetime Hazel had worked as a Nurse's Aide and at Robert Shaw in Grove City. After her retirement she took great enjoyment in babysitting for her grandchildren. During her time at St. Catherine's, Hazel enjoyed doing arts and crafts and sharing these with other residents and friends.

Survivors include her children, Cathy Hoover of Washington C.H., Pamela (Michael) Ulrich of New Carlisle, Charlie (Wendy) Rowland of Bloomingburg and Angie (Jody) Gragg of Leesburg; her grandchildren, Tabitha, Brittany, Deanna, Daniel, Cheyanne, Sean, Sierra, Cody and Megan along with nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Rowland in 2001as well as her sisters, Thelma Darling and Linda Webb, brothers Duane Harper and Terry Harper, and her granddaughter, Crystal Hoover.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to St. Catherine's Manor of Washington Court House for the loving care that Hazel was given throughout the years.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 25, 2025, in the Summers Funeral Home with Danny Dodds officiating, burial to follow in the Salem Cemetery, Wellston. Friends may visit the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday, at the funeral home.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Summers Funeral Home.
