I often think of Hazel and the fine person that she was and also Wayne whom I have known for many years going back to when he was a little boy chasing me down at West View Baptist Church and wanting to talk sports with me. I miss those days just as I know Wayne misses Hazel but he and his family will all have the chance to meet again. God Bless

I continue to think of Hazel frequently. I'm also honored and privileged to be a member of Mary Ann Simcox'z PhD committee. I know Hazel was looking down, beaming with pride and pleasure as Mary Ann defended her PhD dissection. Mary Ann was beautifully prepared. Father Wayne Simcox attended here on earth. We still miss Hazel.

On the anniversary of Hazel's meeting her Lord and Saviour it is stunning to realize how the year has passed. I still treasure all the vivid memories of working with Hazel at Capshaw Elementary School. I continue to see her legacy in the life of Mary Ann Simcox as she continues her journey to the PhD and further touching the lives of others in so many ways. Hazel Simcox..always treasured for the quality of her life.

Hazel was a very fine lady and came from a great family just as Wayne did. I am so sorry that she has passed away but God has all of the answers and we won't learn them here on earth. Hazel spent her life working for others and now she will have a future of living with those in eternity who also have made that sacrifice. Her family will meet her again and feel such happiness in doing so. God Bless Wayne and all his family.

I'm deeply saddened by the loss of Hazel despite her being received by her Lord and Saviour with open and loving arms. Hazel was a student worker in the Dean's office in the College of Education...remember Ms. Ester Piepmeir!?...as an Elementary Education major. She was a magnificent student in my ELED 3140 teaching methods class. So many wonderful memories...yes...precious memories how they linger, how they ever flood my soul....at Capshaw Elementary school being in her room over the years as she mentored practicum students and student teachers. And...speaking of further honor and privilege....what a wonderful honor and privilege to have Mary Ann Simcox in my PhD Issues in Education seminar. In other words, Hazel Simcox gave so much to so many for so many years. All of our lives should be so full of meaning as the gifts that Hazel Simcox gave to all us who knew her. With a tear in my eye I'll say that as we travel Life's Railway to Heaven...we will reach the same ending as our train pull into the station....as we cross River Jordan...we'll be comforted...as should all of us... by Hazel meeting us on The Far Banks of Jordan. Rest in Peace thou good and faithful servant Hazel Simcox. :-(
