Mike was born on Tuesday, June 2, 1959, in Petersburg, Virginia. He was the son of the late John Prevatte and the late Frances Stokes.
Mike lived his life authentically and unapologetically. His word was his bond, and he was there to help anyone in need. He was an incredible teacher. He was extremely intelligent and loved the pursuit of knowledge. He would never give up. His work ethic was impeccable. He was always prepared, calm, and capable. He was guided by his deep morals and sense of selflessness. His service to our country was never public, though he saved many lives.
Mike was a true southern gentleman who was proud of his roots. Mike was also a true badass. His life was full. He loved to go fast and appreciated going slow. He was respected by his peers and loved dearly by all. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his son, Michael Avery Prevatte Jr. of Dallas, GA.
There will be a private memorial held for his closest friends and family.
