Hazel Louise Smith, of Porterdale, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2024, at the age of 69. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Apostolic Community Church. She was a devout Christian and a homemaker for most of her life. Mrs. Smith’s family was her whole life, especially her grandbabies whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benny Earl Smith; and father, Willie Guy Lemonds.
Survivors include her mother, Sara Lemonds Sanders; children, Tonya Smith Lee, Tabitha Renee Cooper (Devin), Sarah Tiffany Monroe (Donald); grandchildren, Jesse Tyler Goforth (Chelsea), Zachary Smith Lee, Naomi Leigh Goforth, Cassidy Cheryl Goforth, James Hunter Robertson, Jaden Ray Monroe, Joseph Rylan Monroe; and great-grandchildren, Hayden Goforth, Abiella Delacruz, Weston Harrison, Dawson Brown, Colson Goforth, Journee Brown, Nova Danes.
A Funeral Service for Mrs. Smith will be held Sunday, June 30, 2024, 3:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Kenneth Morrell and Pastor Robert Nash officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home, two hours prior to her service from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M.
