Hazel R. Tibbe (VanderArk, Frens) age 95, of Holland was welcomed home with open arms by her Lord and Savior on Monday October 14, 2024.
She was preceded in death by husbands Lee VanderArk (1982), John Tibbe (1999), Roland Frens (2013); parents Bill and Christine Kool; brothers Bill Kool, Preston Kool; sister Joanne Tuls; brothers -in- law Gord VanHarn, Art Tuls; sisters -in -law Arlene Kool, Judy Kool.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Dick (Nancy) Frens, Sue (Bob) LaBrie, Tom (Mickey) Frens, Keith (Lydia) Frens; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister Mary VanHarn; brother Jim (Ivy) Kool; sister-in-law Marge Kool: and many nieces, nephews.
Hazel faithfully taught Kindergarten and 5th grade at Holland Christian Schools for 30 + years. Her zest for life was ever present whether she was singing in various choirs or playing her piano (a gift from John Tibbe) at home. Anyone who met Hazel could sense her love and servant attitude. The highlight of every Christmas for the grandchildren was getting a new pair of "gram jams" and celebrating with White Grape Soda and Klondike Bars. Her presence and sense of humor (even during dementia days) will be missed by so many.
A funeral service will take place on Friday, October 18 at 11:00 am at Maranatha Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Chris DeVos officiating. A one hour visitation will take place prior to the service starting at 10:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Holland Christian Schools, or Resthaven.
