Heather Marie Alflen, age 47, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Mercy New Life Hospice Center after a valiant fight with cancer. Heather was born on March 15, 1977, in Medina, Ohio, to Lloyd W. and Barbara Jo (nee Mahannah) Foster.
A 1995 graduate of Marion L. Steel High School, Heather continued her education at Bowling Green State University and the Medical College of Ohio, where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. As a dedicated Registered Nurse, she spent 18 years managing the Early Onset Dementia and Alzheimer's Unit at the Elyria Methodist Home. Most recently, she was employed at Easter Seals in Elyria. Heather's dedication to nursing was unwavering, and she truly loved her career choice.
In her younger years, Heather enjoyed playing soccer. She also had a passion for arts and crafts, traveling, camping, and boating. Known for her genuine and caring nature, she found great joy in taking care of others. Above all, Heather's greatest passion and love were for her daughters and all they were involved in.
Heather is survived by her fiancé, Marc Hamilton; her daughters, Alexis, Alaina, and Ella Alflen; her parents, Lloyd W. and Barbara Foster; brother, Scott Foster; and her uncle, Michael Foster.
The family will receive friends for a celebration of Heather's life on Sunday, July 7, 2024, from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral and Cremation Center, located at 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in Heather's memory to the Cancer Society. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.dovinreberjones.com.
Heather will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her memory will be cherished forever.
