Heather Browning Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Riposta Funeral Home - Belfast on Feb. 25, 2026.
Bucksport – Heather Marie Browning, beloved daughter of Walter and Linda (Bennett) Browning, died on February 16, 2026 as the result of a tragic accident in Winterport, Maine. Heather was born on February 5, 1976 in Bangor, Maine.

It is with broken hearts that we attempt to do our best to honor one of the kindest, most loving, pure-hearted people that we were privileged to know - our Heather.

With strength and grace, she was able to handle all of the adversity placed in her path throughout her life. Her family is so proud of her for her many academic achievements. Heather previously completed her Bachelor of Science In Business degree. More recently she had obtained her nursing degree to become an RN and was just a few months from completing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Heather was currently employed at the Maine Veterans Home in Bangor as a Charge Nurse in long-term care.

Heather enjoyed combing the beach at Sears Island searching for sea glass and other treasures, one of which was a giant fossilized shark tooth that she found. Nature had a special way of revealing itself to Heather, and she was able to capture many amazing photos, including shots of four moose sauntering through her parents' yard. Heather loved flowers, especially daisies and tulips. She looked forward to tending and planting new ones each spring. Heather also enjoyed cooking. We all looked forward to overindulging in her delicious frosted cinnamon buns.

Along with her parents, Heather is survived by her daughters, Isabella and Gabrielle, both of whom she loved unconditionally. Heather is also survived by her most loving partner, Jeremy Shirland and his daughters Olive and Suzanne. She also leaves behind brother Craig and partner Jodie, sister Becky and husband John and brother Matt and wife Sarah. Heather is also survived by nieces Emma, Mary, Lola, and Stella and by her nephew Apollo. Heather also leaves behind many loving extended family members and close friends who loved her dearly.

Always remember to be kind...it matters.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring. Memories and condolences may be shared with her family on her tribute wall.
