It is with great love and sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Heather Clark on Thursday, October 16, 2025 while on her daily walk near Carburn Park, Calgary at the age of 79 years.
She will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 55 years, Ralph; three children, James Clark (Melissa), Joanne Boulton (Mickey) and Kristi-Lyn Gordon (Craig); eight grandchildren, Julia (Robert), Jacob, Gabrielle, Isabelle, Kitanee, Jeremiah, Makaela, Kruz; three siblings, Ian (Bev), David, Mary; and the very large extended Gray, Clark and Seabrook families and dear friends. She was predeceased by her parents George and Catherine Gray; her brother Robert and her granddaughter Jazmine.
Born and raised on Roxburgh farm in Jeogla (near Armidale), New South Wales, Australia, Heather trained as a nurse, graduating from the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Her nursing career took her around the world - working in aged care in London and on a kibbutz in Israel - before she met and married her husband, Ralph, in Germany on April 24, 1970.
Together, Ralph and Heather moved to Canada in 1970, where they began their family and raised three children and helped raise some of their friends. Motherhood was Heather’s greatest joy and gift. She created a warm, nurturing home filled with love, laughter, and the smell of her beautiful homemade bread, muffins, and cookies.
Deeply community-minded, Heather volunteered her time with Telecare, local schools, the Girl Guides, and the Calgary Police Department. Later in life, she shared her excellent research skills in genealogy, contributing valuable work for future generations of her family.
Heather thrived in cold weather and found joy in the great outdoors, taking every opportunity for a walk or an adventure. She had a lifelong love of sport - playing netball, bowling, softball, and curling - and was her children’s and grandchildren’s biggest fan on the sidelines. Heather was a woman of many talents - she baked, sewed, knitted, crocheted - and approached everything she did with care and creativity. Those who knew her will remember her as organized, competitive, kind, strong, compassionate, brave, determined, and a natural leader.
Heather was the glue that bound us all together. She lived a full and generous life devoted to family, service, and community. Her legacy of love, curiosity, and service will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.
