Heather Nichole Doughman, age 38, of Georgetown, IN, formerly of Eaton, OH, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at her home. She was born November 28, 1986 in Oxford, OH.
Heather was born with Cystic Fibrosis and just recently celebrated her 26th double lung transplant anniversary with her family. She was an ambassador for Children’s Medical Center in Dayton and a Wright-Patterson Young Hero. She graduated from Sinclair Community College with an Associate of Arts and Sciences Degree and graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with a Bachelor's Degree in English Language and Literature. She enjoyed fishing with her family, and she loved lemons, grits, and Dollywood baked beans. Heather was a loving aunt; she cherished every second she got with her nephews and spent a lot of time cooking or playing games with her nieces. She had the most generous heart and rarely had anything negative to say about anyone.
Heather was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother Phyllis Arnett; maternal grandparents Garland and Pauline Gross; and her furbabies Lili and Nubi. She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Paula and Brian Kelly; father, Robert “Bob” Doughman; sister Christy Barrett; brother Rob (Kate) Doughman; nieces Lucy Koch, Nichole Koch and Carly Alcorn; nephews Lucas and Oliver Doughman; special cousin Marlana Riley; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and her most prized possession, her cat Mau.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH. Funeral service for Heather will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Lewisburg, OH. Heather would have wanted everyone to come dressed in light green and lavender, as were her favorite colors.
