Heather Harper Obituary

Heather Yvonne Harper of Boise, Idaho passed away on January 29, 2026. Heather faced many challenges throughout her life. Despite these struggles, she showed remarkable resilience and grace, inspiring those around her with her strength and determination to seek healing and hope.

Heather was born in Nashville, Tennessee on June 7, 1963 to Carole Yvonne Schlich Harper and Clio Armitage Harper Sr. She was their second child and immediately gained a best friend, her older brother Clio Armitage Harper Jr. (Armie). Brante Harper, their youngest brother, joined the family several years later. Heather grew up in Beaumont, Texas and was an incredible swimmer through high school. She also was shaped by family trips to Colorado to go backpacking and skiing as well as time spent scuba diving and sailing in the Gulf.

Heather graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Accounting and went on to work in various CPA and financial roles in Oklahoma, Idaho, California and Colorado. She first married Thad Heartfield and then Jon Biggs. She and Jon had two daughters, Brittany in 1990 and Caroline in 1993, who she adored. Heather loved being a mom and always made sure her daughters were taken care of and able to pursue their passions. She was always willing to go above and beyond in her love for them, whether it was taking care of a Tamagotchi while they were at school or stopping at Baskin Robbins anytime they were out running errands for a scoop of Maui Brownie Madness.

After she had raised her daughters, Heather continued to work, contributing her expertise and sharp mind to organizations such as the Telluride Foundation, J.U.M.P. Boise and St. Vincent de Paul. She worked with many wonderful people and particularly valued the work she did with Ralph May at St. Vincent de Paul. Heather enjoyed hiking in the Boise foothills (oftentimes before the sun came up, in the snow and sub-freezing temperatures) and was always game to join friends, like Ginny Gobel, on spur-of-the-moment camping and rafting adventures. Heather loved visiting her daughters and doting on her two grandchildren. She lived near incredible neighbors and was always happy to chat or help when she was able. Heather was often found with a dog by her side – Aspen, Tragen, Remi, Newman and Dino are all happy she has joined them on the other side.

Heather is survived by her two daughters Brittany (Joseph) and Caroline (Trever); grandchildren Sloane and Oscar; and brothers Armie and Brante Harper. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clio Armitage Harper Sr. and Carole Harper.

Heather will be remembered for her kindness towards those she loved, her sense of wonder and her stubborn and resilient spirit. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, UT.
